Andrea Musacchio, PhD Editorial Board, Journal of Structural Biology Max-Planck-Institute of Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, Germany The reductional division of cells, known as meiosis, gives rise to gametes, whose encounter restores the genetic content (ploidy) of organisms.Following his studies in biology at the Tor Vergata University of Rome, Andrea Musacchio earned his doctorate at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg. As a postdoctoral researcher, he was based at Harvard Medical School and starting in 1998 he led a research group at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan.Musacchio is the author of approximately 130 research papers. The scientific interest of the Musacchio laboratory is the process of cell division.
Area B: Biological Targets B6: Targeting centromer recuitment of mitotic regulators by supramolecular ligands. Project B6 will exploit supramolecular modulators to interfere with the role of phosphorylation in chromosome passenger complex (CRC) localization during mitosis.

Our Research Groups. The Institute consists of four departments. Each of them is headed by a director and is scientifically autonomous. In each of the four departments, thematically related research groups are integrated. They have their own scientific priorities and pursue independent research projects.
Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, the official journal of the Australian Podiatry Association and The College of Podiatry (UK), is an open access journal that encompasses all aspects of policy, organisation, delivery and clinical practice related to the assessment, diagnosis, prevention and management of foot and ankle disorders.
During mitotic cell division, each daughter cell receives from its mother cell an exact, full copy of the genome. For this to happen, the sister chromatids in the mother cell must bi-orient on the mitotic spindle. Sister chromatid separation at the metaphase-to-anaphase transition then leads to equal segregation of the genome to the two daughters. Chromosome attachment to spindle microtubules.

The papers and news websites have plenty to say about Boris Johnson's first appearance since returning to work following his recuperation from coronavirus. The Spectator website says the statement.
In eukaryotes, the spindle-assembly checkpoint (SAC) is a ubiquitous safety device that ensures the fidelity of chromosome segregation in mitosis. The SAC prevents chromosome mis-segregation and aneuploidy, and its dysfunction is implicated in tumorigenesis. Recent molecular analyses have begun to shed light on the complex interaction of the checkpoint proteins with kinetochores — structures.
